Biography

Dr Bvuma is the HoD in the Department of Applied Information Systems (AIS) UJ.

She holds several qualifications in the field of Information Technology and attained her PhD in Information Technology Management.

Dr Bvuma is currently Deputy Chairperson of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) and has held several IT advisory positions in various boards such as ICT, Smart City for City of Joburg, Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) amongst others.

She has a driven robust passion in the area of ICT4Development & technology adoption in particular areas such as ICT as an enabler for business growth and sustainability, digital technology for inclusivity, and digital economy.

Her expertise is on adoption of technology or IT strategy towards digitisation and digitilisation.

She also hold special interest in SMMEs and ICT adoption towards their growth, sustainability and development.

Her personal interest are advocating inclusivity for women in the information technology sector and for digital inclusivity.

Dr Bvuma is also known for her passion to having young people particularly women participating in the digital economy or IT sector.
