Eugenie is passionate about creativity - it broadens perspectives and helps overcome prejudice.
Her involvement in the Creative sector started in the 80's in the performing arts behind the scenes.
Eugenie's journey in handcraft began 22 years ago when she opened a retail store piece, focusing on contemporary Southern African handmade objects. Her intention was to highlight the skills and talents of local crafters, to teach basic business skills and to market extraordinary product. The outcome was amazing. Original products that were purchased by numerous celebrities, amongst others, for adornment of both themselves and their homes. Many items were exhibited locally and abroad and their creators were frequently invited to tell their stories and exchange their unique skills.
The introduction to the many rich cultures that populate Southern Africa has been, and remains, a celebratory experience for as she grew to recognize the value of culture and tribe, to take advantage of opportunities to share this newfound knowledge, connecting the crafter through their stories, to the customer. At the same time, Eugenie could help community groups realise their own worth, showcase their talent and inspire others.
